As a young man, Richard Emerson was a huge fan of the Dunedin Sound. Being deaf, he couldn't hear the music, but he could feel it. From the jangling guitars reverberating through the speakers, to the buzz reverberating through the gigs. This beer is a tribute to The Sound, made with NZ hops for a bold local flavour, that will reverberate around your taste buds.

Some like it cold. If you're reading this, you probably do, too. You've come down from a day in the freezing snow and turned your frostbitten nose up at a hot toddy or mulled wine, instead opting for the coldest one you could find. This year, the Emerson's Brew Crew went to Clayton Hop Farm on an important mission to harvest a bounty of the freshest Nelson Sauvin hops. And when you pick fresh hops, you get Sticky Digits. Resinous, lupulin covered hands, and a rich, smooth, fresh hop hazy IPA, with grapey, gooseberry, limey flavours. They've got sticky, now it's time for you to get stuck in.

Officially, this is a Mexican-style lager. But you could think of it as a Dunedin Cerveza. A very refreshing beer from a city that could hardly be further south of the border. It's crisp, with a malty backbone, subtle hop flavours, and just a hint of citrus but feel free to add a fresh slice of your own. Now you know what they've always known down there: nothing beats an ice-cold Sunny Day.

If you've been mowing your super-long lawn, running super-fast, or out in the super-hot sun, you'll need to super-quench your super-thirst. This Pacific Pilsner has been dry-hopped with NZ and US hops to make it super-tasty, while it's light body and crisp finish make it super-refreshing. At just 4% ABV, and 40% lower in carbs, you can feel slightly-smug, too.

A Low Carb beer that just isn't about being low carb, it is about the flavour. It is a Low Carb Pale Ale that has the incredible hop aroma and hop flavour you expect from a typical Epic beer. Hop Dragon - after the success of Epic's fresh hop beer Hop Gator last year they thought "how do we make this bigger and better". What is a flying Gator they thought, because they fly the hops from the hop farm on the same morning as they are harvested and have them in the beer just after lunch so they are as fresh as we can possibly get them? A Dragon, and coincidentally it is the year of the Dragon. Hop Dragon is packful of freshly harvested green, fresh Riwaka hops from Eggers Hop Farm in Upper Moutere. Hop farmer Kem gets up super early and heads out in the dark to find the freshest, ripest Riwaka hops he can find, Once again he has made us all proud. Hop Dragon is a perfect balance of the fresh green hop character and a deliciously drinkable Hazy Fresh Hop IPA.

For the 10th anniversary of Hop Zombie (2021) Epic decided to brew something that was bigger, and came up with the name 'Zombier', because it is bigger than Hop Zombie. This batch is a re-brew (second time only) of ZombieR because people are always asking when Epic were going to brew it again. Out of the can there is that familiar aroma of the guava and passionfruit. On tasting though they will find there is a noticeable difference compared to Hop Zombie. It seems that the balance of the beer is noticeably greater. This leads to an unfortunately high level of drinkability. There will be people that think having two cans is a good idea because it tastes so good, and so easy to drink. All they will say is beware, and respect the Zombie, it bites. 10% ABV.

Lupulingus, The name? Oh, it's brilliant! It's a fusion of "Lupulin" (that glorious resinous compound extracted straight from hops) and "Lingus" (yes, that's a cheeky nod to ones taste buds). With a 9% ABV, this Imperial IPA packs 40% more hops than its notorious sibling, Hop Zombie, and blasts ones senses with a jaw-dropping 101 IBUs. Yeah, that's right-101. We're talking hop intensity on a scale that'll make lesser IPAs weep.
